Before embarking on her entrepreneurial endeavor with Lucas Advisory, Marilyn held key leadership positions at prominent private equity and real estate investment firms, including PMRG, CWCapital, The Carlyle Group, and CarrAmerica. Her impact was profound, providing strategic asset and exit management for more than 100 commercial real estate assets, collectively valued at $5.7 billion. 

While at PMRG, Marilyn established an institutional-grade asset management platform for a dynamic portfolio of owned assets with a total capitalization of $1.2 billion. She led an asset management team for office, retail and senior housing assets, executed the disposition of $398 million in assets, and provided valuable insights into potential acquisitions.

Marilyn's tenure at CWCapital was marked by her specialization in managing large, complex, and special-issue assets. Over four years, she executed innovative business plans that maximized the value of a $1.65 billion (UPB) portfolio. These strategies ranged from immediate dispositions to comprehensive repositioning tactics, including strategic capital improvements, and leasing programs.

As a Principal in Carlyle's US Real Estate group, Marilyn took charge of asset management for a portfolio encompassing office and senior housing assets. During her impressive eight-year journey with Carlyle, she skillfully managed 41 assets valued at $2.8 billion and executed disposition transactions totaling $1.2 billion.
